The first CUWiP was held at the University of Southern California in 2006. The American Physical Society (APS) began serving as the national organizing committee for CUWiP in 2012. In its current form, CUWiP serves undergraduates across the US and Canada with parallel conferences happening over one weekend.
Per the APS, “the goal of APS CUWiP is to help undergraduate women continue in physics by providing them with the opportunity to experience a professional conference, information about graduate school and professions in physics, and access to other women in physics of all ages with whom they can share experiences, advice, and ideas.”

We would not be able to organize this conference without the efforts of our volunteers and the administrative staff in the Department of Physics & Astronomy, the Munnerlyn Instrumentation Lab, and the Cyclotron Institute. In particular, we would like to thank Ryan Carmichael for his invaluable assistance in crafting this website!
